Bandipora,September 23:In its continuous drive against drug menace, Bandipora Police today apprehended two persons along with contrabrand narcotic substances during naka checking at Sunmar crossing Ganastnan in Jd of PP Nowgam .
The accused have been identified as:
1. Dilawar Ahmad Beigh, S/o Riyaz Ahmad Beigh
2. Ayaz Ali Wani, S/o Ali Mohammad Wani
—both residents of Beigh Mohalla Ganastnan Nowgam.
During the checking, police recovered two bags of charas powder weighing about (10Kgs) ,14 bottles of BERRYCOF (Codeine Phosphate) and other contrabrand substance from their possession.
Both the persons were taken into custody and in this regard,Case FIR No. 212/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at (PP Nowgam) Police Station Sumbal and further investigation has been set into motion.
Bandipora Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace from the society and appeals to the general public to come forward with information related to drug peddling or other anti-social activities in their areas.
