Kangan, July 15:In a significant move to bolster drinking water infrastructure, the Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kangan, Mian Meher Ali, chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department on Monday.

The meeting, held to assess the progress of ongoing and proposed water supply schemes in the constituency, witnessed the presence of Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir, Superintending Engineer PHE Srinagar/Ganderbal, Executive Engineer PHE Ganderbal, and Assistant Executive Engineers of concerned subdivisions.

A comprehensive review was conducted on various initiatives including projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), restoration of damaged water pipelines, augmentation of drinking water schemes in rural belts, and the status of filtration plants and reservoir installations.

MLA Mian Meher Ali stressed the need for speeding up execution timelines and urged officials to ensure timely completion of all works to provide uninterrupted potable water to residents. He further directed field officers to be proactive in addressing public grievances and to maintain regular outreach with the community.

Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir assured the MLA of the department’s commitment to resolving existing challenges and enhancing water supply services across Kangan.

The meeting underscored the MLA’s consistent focus on strengthening basic amenities and ensuring equitable access to essential services for all sections of society.
