GANDERBAL, 14 NOVEMBER 2025:
In a continued effort to curb illegal activities and ensure transparency in the sale and purchase of pre-owned vehicles, Ganderbal Police on Friday carried out an extensive checking drive across multiple old vehicle sale–purchase units in the district.
Special teams from various police stations were deputed to inspect documentation, verify ownership records, and examine the maintenance of transaction registers at these establishments. The inspection aimed to identify irregularities, prevent misuse of vehicles, and ensure that no sale or purchase takes place without proper verification—measures crucial for averting unlawful activities.
During the drive, officers briefed unit owners and staff about the mandatory requirements of maintaining accurate records, verifying customer credentials, and following all legal procedures during transactions. They were also urged to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious dealings to the nearest police station.
Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public safety and maintaining strict oversight of all activities that could pose a threat to peace and security in the district. The department stated that such inspections will continue in the coming days to ensure full compliance and accountability.
